It was my pleasure to speak with you by phone yesterday. I thank you for agreeing to meet with CLASSROOM ON WHEELS for the Fall 2000 session. CLASSROOM ON WHEELS is a program of Adult and Community Education. We are a part of The Sarasota County School System. The CLASSROOM ON WHEELS program is beginning its 26th year. Each session is 10 weeks long. Each week, the class meets with a different person/ business/ organization that represents a part of OUR community. Our topics generally include Government, Education, Religion, Business/Industry, Social Services, Arts & Culture, and Historical Beginnings. Our territory traveled includes north Sarasota County to Venice, and south Manatee County. We travel by school bus. Our students are Adult Senior Citizens, who are active, interested in learning, and make Sarasota area their home. This program is a good way to learn about your community.
The Fall Session begins September 27, and runs for 10 weeks, through December 8, 2000. There will be 3 classes -approximately 120 student, total. Therefore, we will schedule 3 different dates spread over the 10 week period, with about 35 students per meeting date.
We discussed meeting in a classroom setting first to view your 25 minute video. Once we set out dates, I will arrange the location. The students will reload the bus and proceed to the factory for a 20-30 minute tour. We will have about 14 . hours to spent on the class.
I, or my partner Pat will contact you early August to confirm this arrangement. Our pamphlet will then go to print. I will contact you the end of August to set up class dates. I will follow up with a letter of confirmation.
Enclosed is a copy of our Winter and Spring 2000 pamphlets to give you an overview of our program. We look forward to our classes with you and to learning much more about artificial reefs.
