Reef Balls at Fahl Island                                                     19th March 2004

We regularly visit the site of the Reef Ball placements at the southern end of Fahl Island. They were put in place in 1999, and now, five years on, we can see how the naturally seeded coral has developed on the Balls.

Sadly, we also show how five years growth is destroyed  - the last photo shows how so much coral is damaged by careless net fishing practices.

        The dominant Acropora coral species are A.valida,  A.arabensis  and  A.downingi
