Rednecks help make fishing better
REBECCA WILD BAXTER
Members of the Ridin' Redneck 4-H Club from Myakka Valley, including Travis Kennell (L)
and Kyle Tabar, spent last Saturday helping to make eight large reef balls. Harry Rolfe of
Reef Innovations worked with the kids to fill the molds with specially treated concrete
that has a lowered pH balance that helps fish and underwater plants accept the reef as
part of their natural habitat. The reef balls will be sunk in Sarasota Bay around
the end of the month.
